Maldives, in full Republic of Maldives, also called Maldive Islands, independent island country in the north-central Indian Ocean. It consists of a chain of about 1,200 small coral islands and sandbanks (some 200 of which are inhabited), grouped in clusters, or atolls.

Maldives is home to perhaps the best beaches in the world; they’re on almost every one of the country’s nearly 1200 islands and are so consistently perfect that it’s hard not to become blasé about them. While some beaches may boast softer granules than others, the basic fact remains: you won't find consistently whiter-than-white powder sand and luminous cyan-blue water like this anywhere else on earth. Rajasthan, meaning “The Abode of the Rajas,” was formerly called Rajputana, “The Country of the Rajputs” (sons of rajas [princes]). Before 1947, when India achieved independence from British rule, it comprised some two dozen princely states and chiefships, the small British-administered province of Ajmer-Merwara, and a few pockets of territory outside the main boundaries. After 1947 the princely states and chiefships were integrated into India in stages, and the state took the name Rajasthan. It assumed its present form on November 1, 1956, when the States Reorganization Act came into force.

The Aravallis form Rajasthan’s most-important watershed. To the east of the range, the Chambal River the only large and perennial stream in the state and other waterways generally drain toward the northeast. The principal tributary of the Chambal, the Banas River, rises in the Aravallis near the great Kumbhalgarh hill fort and collects all the drainage of the Mewar plateau. Farther north, the Banganga, after rising near Jaipur, flows east toward the Yamuna before disappearing. The Luni is the only significant river west of the Aravallis. It rises near the city of Ajmer in central Rajasthan and flows some 200 miles (320 km) west-southwest into the Rann of Kachchh in Gujarat state. Northeast of the Luni basin is an area of internal drainage characterized by salt lakes, the largest of which is Sambhar Salt Lake. Farther to the west lies the true Marusthali (“Land of the Dead”), the barren wastelands and areas of sand dunes that form the heart of the Thar Desert.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands, union territory, India, consisting of two groups of islands at the southeastern edge of the Bay of Bengal. The peaks of a submerged mountain range, the Andaman Islands and their neighbours to the south, the Nicobar Islands, form an arc stretching southward for some 620 miles (1,000 km) between Myanmar (Burma) and the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. The arc constitutes the boundary between the Bay of Bengal to the west and the Andaman Sea to the east. Port Blair (on South Andaman Island) is the territorial capital.

Gili Trawangan: The party island of Bali

Kovalam in Kerala has three beaches separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach.

The southernmost beach, the Lighthouse Beach is the one most frequented by tourists while at Kovalam, Kerala. Lighthouse Beach got its name due to the old Vizhinjam Lighthouse located on a 35 meter high on top of the Kurumkal hillock. The lighthouse is built using stones, is coloured in red and white bands and enjoys a height of 118 feet. Its intermittent beams at night render the beach with an unearthly charm. A must visit while you are in Kerala.

Eve’s Beach, more commonly known as Hawa Beach, ranks second,   is a beehive of activities with fishermen setting out for sea. With a high rock promontory and a calm bay of blue waters, this Kerala beach paradise creates a unique aquarelle on moonlit nights.

A large promontory separates this part from the southern side. Samudra Beach doesn't have tourists thronging there or hectic business. The local fishermen ply their trade on this part.

Even though in Tamil Nadu, the proximity to Kerala makes this also a favourite destination for Kerala tourists. Famous for being the only place in India where you can observe the sunrise and sunset at the same beach, its pristine beaches as well as its temples and churches which attract a huge number of tourists to this city all year round. On India's southern tip, the town was known as Cape Comorin during British rule. It's also a noted pilgrimage site. One of the most iconic monument, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a gigantic structure surrounded on all sides by the Laccadive Sea.

The breath-taking scenic views from various hilltops, the aroma of spices and coffee, the roar of wild animals and the rhythmic folk dances and music of the tribal people form a perfect rainbow of tourism options in the eco-tourism destination of Wayanad district, located in the Indian state of Kerala. Land of rivers, forests and water falls.  Athirapally in Kerala is one of the most visited waterfalls in Kerala, often called as “Niagra of India” its shining pride of Kerala standing at a towering 82 feet high and 332 feet in width. Thekkady in Kerala is a small area within the Idukki district of Kerala and is known for the multiple places of tourist interests. Periyar National Park and Periyar Tiger Reserve are one of the major tourist attractions in Thekkady, Kerala, with a total area of over 770 square km, of which around 360 square kilometres are evergreen forest. Laced with canals languid backwaters and lagoons, in Kerala, Kumarakom bird sanctuary is home to many species like Siberian storks and varieties of other migratory birds. Its Kerala heaven for multi-coloured plethora of bird species. Fishing, agriculture and tourism are the major economic activities of Kumarakom, Kerala. The place has expanses of mangrove forests, paddy fields and coconut groves. This rich agricultural environment in kerala is mainly irrigated using interspersed waterways and canals of the Meenachal river. Munnar, Kerala is a town in the southern western state of Kerala, located at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level.
